Recently, a research team led by Wang Xinran and Ding Feng from Suzhou Laboratory pioneered a "stone-to-crystal" technique using rare-earth elements to modify sapphire substrates, achieving a global breakthrough in the mass production of 6-inch single-crystal transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) semiconductors. Their study, titled "Robust Epitaxy of Single-Crystal Transition Metal Dichalcogenides on Lanthanum-Passivated Sapphire," was published online in Science on October 23, 2025.

Suzhou Laboratory Research Featured on the Cover of Nature
Recently, Dr. Wei Li from Suzhou Laboratory (as a corresponding author), in collaboration with Hokkaido University in Japan and other institutions, reported groundbreaking research on the rational design of functional polymer hydrogels. The study, entitled “Data-Driven De Novo Design of Super-Adhesive Hydrogels”, was published online on August 6th as a cover article in Nature.
Laboratory Research Results Published in Science
A research project led by Professors Le Xu and Jian Li (jointly appointed by Nanjing University) from Suzhou Laboratory, collaborating with researchers from Nanjing University, Nanjing Tech University, and other institutions, has advanced the development of extra-large-pore zeolite catalytic materials. Their findings, titled "Accelerated discovery of stable, extra-large-pore nano zeolites with micro-electron diffraction," were published in Science on June 27, 2025.
